LOCATION OF BREZNO

The town of Brezno is located in the center of Slovakia in the Banská Bystrica region in the upper part of the Horehronie region. Brezno is the center of a district spreading over 1265 square kilometres from its eastern border near the village of Telgárt under the Besník saddle to its western border near the villages of Nemecká and Ráztoka. Its biggest part comprises Horehronie valley bordered from the north by the massive mountain range of the Low Tatras and the vast mountain ranges of Slovenské Rudohorie (the Slovak Ore Mountains) from the south.
